Kenny D. Ray, 65, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Sedalia on February 13, 1950, son of Melvin and Berniece Stevenson Ray.

Kenny enjoyed fishing, watching the races, and antiquing. He loved being involved with his grandkids sports and various activities.

He received his Associate degree from State Fair Community College.

Kenny was a member of the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by one son, Justin Ray (Jennifer), of Green Ridge; one daughter, Lori Holem (Obie), of Sedalia; two sisters, Judy Needy and Connie Ray; one brother, Steve Ray; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Marcum officiating.

Honorary bearers will be Doug Needy, Todd Needy, Obie Holem, Austin Story, Eric Ray, Bill DeHaven, and Eron Harding.
Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
