In one of the more physical games of the night, the Sacred Heart Lady Gremlins took on the Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center Tuesday evening.

It was the fourth night of the 2017 Kaysinger Conference Basketball Tournament, sponsored by W-K Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, on the State Fair Community College campus, and it was ladies-only night.

The Lady Grems finished the night on top, 49-31. They advance to play Tipton in the championship girls game, set for Friday night at 9 p.m.

Top scorers for Cole Camp were Bailey Heimsoth and Alyssa Oelrichs with eight points each. Top scorers for Sacred Heart were McKenna Beeler with 17 points, followed by Grace Goodwin with 13.

The Tipton Lady Cardinals handily defeated the Smithton Lady Tigers, 63-32, earlier in the evening to advance to the final game in the girls bracket.

In the first game of the night, the Otterville Lady Eagles eliminated the Stover Lady Bulldogs, 53-50, in the losers bracket. Stover was the 2016 girls championship team.

In the last game of the night, the Windsor Lady Greyhounds defeated the Lincoln Lady Cards, 64-55. They will play Otterville for fifth.

Smithton plays Cole Camp (18-4) for third place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at SFCC.

A special tribute to the late Ernie Dow was read aloud to the crowd just before the start of the Sacred Heart - Cole Camp game. The well-known and beloved Sedalia area official, referee and umpire with decades of experience died on Tuesday at the age of 73. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.
