SFCC led 33-30 at halftime and extended the lead to 57-41 at the end of three quarters, courtesy of a layup from sophomore guard Danae' Cole. SFCC outscored Mineral Area 15-12 in the final quarter.

"Our conditioning was the key to extending our lead in the third quarter," said head coach Kevin Bucher. "We looked fresh and could still run the floor. We hit some three-point shots, which also helped build our lead." Lead scorers were sophomore guard Ahjana Oakes and freshman guard Ren'Cia Rolling with 16 points each. Rolling also dished out a team-high four assists. Sophomore guard Alexis Cowan contributed 12 points. Freshman guard Maya Brewer added 10 points. Freshman center Grace Morrow pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and recorded three blocked shots. Cole led in steals with three.

The Lady Roadrunners will travel to Poplar Bluff on Saturday, Feb. 4, to take on the Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders. Both teams currently occupy the top two spots in the Region 16 standings. Tipoff is 5 p.m. Listen live at KSISradio.com, starting at 4:50 p.m.
