Larry Ray Shackelford, 59

Larry Ray Shackelford, 59, of Cole Camp, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015, at his home.  He was born on November 6, 1956, in Warrensburg, Missouri, son of Lloyd H. and Freida F. (Gowin) Shackelford.

In 1975, he graduated from Warrensburg High School and attended Central Missouri State University until 1977.  On June 4, 1978, in Warrensburg, he was united in marriage to Ronda Yung.  This union was blessed with the gift of two children:  Marsha and Bradley.

His early career path started with Wendy's and Brown and Williamson, which lead to owning Der Essen Platz (The Eating Place) in Cole Camp from 1986-1999.  He then went to work for Phillip-Morris and later for Farner-Bocken.  He was a board member of the Triple Creek Golf Course in Cole Camp, a volunteer for the Cole Camp Fire Department, a member of the Cole Camp Jaycees and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL).

Larry enjoyed get togethers with family and friends where he loved sharing stories.  He looked forward to his annual AKL float trips, golf outings at Triple Creek Golf Course, and most of all he loved being "Graumpy" to his grandchildren.

He is survived by:
his mother, Freida Shackelford of Warrensburg;
a daughter, Marsha Larimer and Wyatt of Nixa, Missouri;
a son, Bradley Shackelford and Mandy of Maryville, Missouri;
two brothers, Randall Shackelford and Karen of Laurie and Robert Shackelford and Vickie of Lincoln, California; and two grandchildren, Carson Wyatt Larimer and Addison Marie Shackelford.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd H. Shackelford, and a brother, Billy Allen Shackelford.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with visitation starting at 1:30 p.m.  Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, Warrensburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Triple Creek Golf Course in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.

Pallbearers will be members of Alpha Kappa Lambda.
