Larry Wayne Patterson, 72, of Sedalia passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home.  He was born on December 15, 1941 in Oskaloosa, IA, a son of James and Beatrice (French) Patterson.

On June 16, 1962 in Warrensburg, MO he was united in marriage to Darlene Shackelford, who survives of the home.

Larry was a mechanic at Lamy's Manufacturing for over 25 years. He was an excellent cabinet builder. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and his bride of 52 years. He was a member of Crossroads Family Worship Church of God, Sedalia. From 1960-1964 Larry served his country honorably in the United States Air Force through the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Larry W. Patterson, Jr. of Holden, MO, Keith  A. Patterson (Martha) of Sedalia, Kevin L. Patterson (Tammy) of  Midland, GA; two sisters, Nancy Mashbach of WI, Marilyn Danaher of Olathe, KS; two brothers, Dale Patterson (Rose) of Houstonia, MO, James Patterson (Pat) of Blue Springs, MO; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Patterson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Bethel Assembly of God with Rev. Randell Baugus and Rev.  Gene Ekstrand officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Monday February 17, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia. Full military honors will conducted at graveside.

Pallbearers will be Dean Collins, Dean Roe, Ronnie Adair, Jessie Vansell, Jerry Venable, and Scott Ratliff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Preston, Emilee, Nicholas, Kaeleib, and Aliksandra Patterson. (Grandchildren)

Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Family Worship Church of God, Sedalia in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
