Lawrence Alan “Larry” Emery age 73 of Warsaw passed away Friday the 12th of April 2013 at his home.

Larry was born September the 27th 1939 in Moundville Missouri, the son 0of Geneva and Lawrence V. Emery.

He grew up in Moundville and graduated from Nevada High School. After High School he received an acting scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas. In 1959 he joined the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. He served his country for 3 years.

After the army Larry returned to the family farm in Moundville. He later moved to Sedalia and started a 30-year career in radio working for KSIS and KDRO. He spent a lot of time during the holiday season serving as Santa Clause for the Sedalia Christmas Parade and families in the area.

He was a member of American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw Missouri. He was a master story teller, and loved to garden.

He is survived by a son, Zachary Emery of Portland Oregon, a daughter Megan Emery-Moore of Shanghai China, two sisters Kathleen Steele, and Marilyn McFadden, one brother Donald Emery, and a granddaughter, Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will also be deeply missed by his three legged dog, Lucky.

A memorial visitation will be held for Lawrence A. Emery at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock Friday evening the 19th of April 2013.
