Lee’s Summit Man Dies After Two-Vehicle Accident Involving a Deer
A 20-year-old Lee's Summit has died, following an accident on MO 291 in Cass County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2014 Ford Fusion struck a deer around 8:20 p.m. on April 16. The Fusion then crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle. The driver, 20-year-old Alec B. Rush, was pronounced dead at Research Medical Center early the following morning.
The driver of the second vehicle, 28-year-old Nathaniel Slaughter, also of Lee's Summit, was treated for moderate injuries at Centerpoint Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled and were towed from the scene.
