Lela Pearl McMackin, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at her home. She was born on Oct. 8, 1920 in Sedalia, a daughter of George Emo, Jr. and Lora Curry.

On June 16, 1939 in Sedalia she was united in marriage to Ira Leroy McMackin.

Lela was a 1937 graduate of Smith Cotton High School. She worked as an LPN at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, until retiring in 1983. Lela enjoyed sewing, quilting, and flower gardening. She was a member of Longwood Presbyterian Church in Longwood, MO.

She is survived by two children, Ira O. McMackin II (Shirley) of Sedalia, Barbara Sue Lawrence (Charles) of Galveston, TX; four grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorene Bond, Maurine Guinn, and Mary Jane Emo.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Bobbie Karchner officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Elifritz, Brett Elifritz, Scott Moy, Doug Lawrence, Roy Guinn, and Alex Lawrence.

Honorary bearer will be Ray Tamez.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Longwood Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral chapel.
