Leslie Dale Hays, 74

Leslie Dale Hays, 74, of Austin, TX, died Sunday, September 6, 2015, in Austin.

He was born May 28, 1941, in Florence, son of August L. and Edith L. Jobe Hays.

Leslie owned and operated ATEX Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.

Surviving are his former wife, Carolyn Parmley; five children, Margo Diamond, Leslie Hays Jr., Michael Hays, Janie Hall and John Hays; five step-children, Paula Brown, Kenny Porter, Jerry Parmley, Dalana Goetz and Doug Parmley; 20 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Larry Hays, Esther Katz, Debra Mutz, Pamela Bird, and Michael Hays.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Williams; a brother, Ronald Hays; and a sister, Inez Hays (in infancy).
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Stan Jobe officiating.

Casket bearers will be grandsons.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Florence.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
