Lettie Irene Bottcher, 92, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Four Seasons Living Center.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Francis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Bottcher, Gene Wallace, Jeff Wallace, Todd Bottcher, Tracey Bottcher and David Bottcher. Honorary pallberaers will be Marsha Siercks and Barbara Ballard. Born July 25, 1920 in Florence, MO, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Minnie (Minstermann) Young. On November 7, 1938 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Bottcher, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Larry Bottcher (Carole), of Buckner, MO and Jerry Bottcher (Brenda), of Sedalia; a daughter, Betty Privett (Howard), of Smithton; a brother Clayton Young, of Sedalia; a sister, Louise Gyrde, of Orange County, California; 8 grandchildren, Brad Bottcher, Gene Wallace, Jeff Wallace, Todd Bottcher, Tracey Bottcher, David Bottcher, Marsha Siercks and Barbara Ballard; 7 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Gladys Crawford. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Bottcher; a great-granddaughter, Keisha Wallace; five brothers, Charlie, Cecil, Orlie, Wray and Loyd Young; and two sisters, Lillian Rock and Cora Lutjen.

Mrs. Bottcher worked for Swift and Company and later as a seamstress for Lamy’s for 20 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, word searches and family gatherings.
