Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder announced 35 winners of the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award today (May 8), including Anna Lee Bail of Sedalia.

Lt. Governor Kinder presented the awards at a luncheon for the winners and their guests outside his office in the Capitol. Bail was nominated by Rep. Stanley Cox of Sedalia.

Bail is a longtime volunteer in the Sedalia community. Her service includes the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Missouri State Fair Foundation, Cactus, Open Door, Literacy Council, the Center for Human Services, Headstart, Pettis County Historical Society, Scott Joplin Foundation and Katy Depot. She also is active at First Baptist Church, Church Women United and many other organizations and community activities.

“Anna Lee is always enthusiastic and meets every challenge with a smile,” said Rep. Cox in his nomination. “When special projects are planned, Anna Lee is the most requested volunteer by many organizations.”

Lt. Governor Kinder presented Bail with an official declaration and a Senior Service Award lapel pin at a ceremony in the Capitol.

“Anna Lee Bail sets an example for all Missourians with her kindness and willingness to serve the Sedalia community through a wide variety of organizations,” Kinder said. “Her selfless service is an inspiration to all who know her.”

Kinder this year received more than 150 nominations for the Senior Service Award, naming 34 winners representing the state’s 34 Senatorial Districts and one at-large winner. Bail won in District 28.
