Lillian Rages Barrick, 92, of Sedalia, died Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born November 13, 1922, in Ionia, a daughter of the late Charles Louis Rages, Sr. and Gertrude L. (Fischer) Rages.

Mrs. Barrick graduated from Hughesville High School in 1940. She continued her education at CMSU and received her Masters in Education in 1967.

From 1943-1948 she was an education assistant and later the registrar at CMSU, beginning her 30-year education career; for 25 years she was a counselor and Director of Guidance Services for the Sedalia School District.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Sedalia. She served on Local Missouri Board #13 of the Selective Service System from 1984 to 1990. She was a member of community and state retired teachers associations, P.E.O. Sisterhood and Sorosis.

She is survived by two children, William “Bill” Barrick, and his wife, Dianne, of Cole Camp; a daughter, Anita Barrick, and her husband, Dick, of Austin, TX; a sister, Margaret Boyd, of Ann Arbor, MI; two grandchildren, Rita Waters, and her husband, John, of Houston, TX, and Randy Boles, of Austin, TX; a great-grandson, Aaron Waters, of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Rages, Jr.; and three sisters, Mildred Rages, Miriam Nell Fowler and Kathryn Fox; and her adopted daughter, Laurie Suhr.

Funeral service will be 10 am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Whitmore officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Huhman, Kim Graves, Willie Jenkins, Kyle Fowler, David Rages and Bill Barrick. Burial will follow in Highland Sacred Gardens.

Visitation will be 5 pm–7 pm, Monday at the funeral chapel.
