Local attorney Sean Pilliard on Monday visited the Law & You classes at Smith-Cotton High School to discuss his work and his path to becoming a lawyer.

A member of S-C’s Class of 1990, Pilliard earned his undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Missouri-Columbia and his law degree from Vanderbilt University.

He discussed ethics, classes students should take to prepare for a career in law and the need to write effectively.

Listening, from left, are students Tyshawn Ward, Jacob Sutherland and Colin Polley.
