Long Battle With Cancer Ends For 9-Year-Old ‘Cely’
Aracely "Cely" Elaine Gonzalez, 9 of Sedalia ended her long battle with cancer. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at MU Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia, MO. Cely was born on June 23, 2006 at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, MO the daughter of Javier and Kimberly Sue (Sims) Gonzalez, who survive of the home.
Cely was a student at Parkview Elementary School, Sedalia. She loved being a Girl Scout of Troop 71052. She had a passion for her family, horses, her dog Lulu, and always had a smile on her face. Cely was a daddy's girl and wanted to grow up to be like him.
Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Claudia Isel and Marcella Sue Gonzalez of the home; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Donna Raines of Otterville, MO; paternal grandparents, Pedro and Martha Gonzalez of Bahner, MO; maternal great grandmothers, Dorothy Arndt of Odessa, MO and Loula Sims of Vandalia, MO; paternal great grandfather, Luis Gonzalez of Santa Ana, CA; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Liliana and Lizzette Gonzalez; and her maternal grandfather, Kenneth R. Sims.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center with Pastor Logan Patrick officiating.
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies, Scott DeHaven, Bradley Chancellor, Brian Egbert, Shawn Apel, Jimmy Moore and Lary Lehman.
Honorary bearers will be Alex, Juan Pedro, Makayla, Kennedy, Pedrito, and Kady.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
