A Sedalia man was arrested while police were searching for another subject who ran from an officer.

According to a Sedalia Police report, an officer called for assistance around 11 p.m. Wednesday after a suspect ran from him. Another officer responded and detained a man at 6th and Missouri who partially matched the description of the suspect.

A computer check revealed 27-year-old Alan T. Saxton of Sedalia was wanted on two Municipal warrants for Stealing and Driving While Revoked. He was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $318.50 cash-only bond.

According to the report, Saxton was not the suspect they were originally looking for. He now has a May 16 court date.
