The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad met this morning (September 4) for a briefing on the William "Blaine" Whitworth homicide case that happened Saturday night in the 1000 Block of Sunflower in Warrensburg.

35 major case squad investigators convened to participate in the investigation.  Investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Police/Sheriff's agencies have reported in Warrensburg from Johnson, Pettis, Henry, Lafayette, Saline and Ray County.

In addition to the investigators, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Division of Drug and Crime Control and their Violent Crime Support Unit is involved.

The Warrensburg Police found 25-year-old William “Blaine” Whitworth dead in the 1000 Block of Sunflower after responding to a report of shots being fired around 9:30 p.m.  Authorities have not released any additional information on Whitworth's death.
