Police say a 28-year-old Sedalia man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after an officer observed his vehicle driving after dark with no headlights on.

According to a police report, an officer was stopped at a red light at Broadway and Lamine at approximately 9 p.m. on October 18 when a vehicle was observed driving northbound on Lamine with no headlights on. Police say that vehicle then made an illegal turn onto Broadway.

Police followed the vehicle, described as a white SUV, when it then allegedly accelerated to 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver, 28-year-old William Cody Meyers, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Meyers was taken to the Sedalia Police Department for a breath test, then taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a Sedalia Municipal court date of November 16.
