ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 43-year-old man has been charged with killing a St. Louis hotel manager during a robbery. Poplar Bluff Police Chief Danny Whiteley said Joseph B. Bowens was charged yesterday with first-degree murder in Thursday's killing of Scott Knopfel at a Drury Inn and Suites hotel. The 50-year-old Knopfel was one of seven people killed over a 24-hour span last week in St. Louis. He's jailed in Butler County on $500,000 cash only bond.
