A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting another man along the side of a road.

The Kansas City Star reports that 43-year-old Antonio Miles was sentenced Wednesday for manslaughter and armed criminal action in the killing of 34-year-old James Hines, of Kansas City. Police found Hines lying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound to the head in July 2016.

Court records say a witness told police that Miles come to her workplace intoxicated and agitated. Miles told the witness he had been driving around with Hines and suggested getting out of the vehicle to "smoke a dip." He allegedly told the witness he shot Hines and took his pants. Police found Hines' blood on Miles' discarded clothes.
