A Missouri man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting that he beat his brother to death with a hammer.

Keandre Washington, of Northwoods, was sentenced Monday for second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Washington, who was 17 at the time, fought with his 25-year-old brother, Bobby Washington, at their home in December 2014. Police say Keandre Washington killed his brother with a hammer during the fight.

Their mother called police after leaving the house during the fight. The cause of the fight was not clear.
