Margaret Agnes Kientzy, 90, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014, at her daughter's home in Sedalia.

She was born May 2, 1924, in Silex, MO, daughter of William Tell and Bertha Gertrude Mudd Koster. On February 1, 1950, in Millwood, MO, she married Clarence Sefrin Kientzy, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2011.

Mrs. Kientzy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sedalia, and formerly attended St. Alphonsus Church in Silex. She was a committeewoman for the Democratic Party. She was proud of being the captain of her basketball team in high school. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing cards, visiting with friends, flowers, music, dancing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and traveling. She was a reading mentor at the elementary school. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Korte (Dennis), and Mary Jo Kientzy, all of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Amanda Mast (Kellen), and Ryan Kientzy Korte; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee Mast and Adelynn Mast; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, William Koster, Raymond Koster and Geneva Hawkins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church in Silex.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Mudd Veach Funeral Home in Silex.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the new Sedalia Animal Shelter or Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Local arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
