Marion Jean "Mernie" Young, 75, of Green Ridge, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at her home.

She was born March 7, 1939, in Manitoba, Canada, daughter of Thomas and Marion Margaret Smith DeVisser. On July 5, 1963, in Salt Lake City, UT, she married Harry B. "Pete" Young Jr., who preceded her in death on October 6, 2010.

Mrs. Young was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed horseback riding and painting.

Surviving are three children: Camie Schoonover, of Eagle Mountain, UT, Ben Young, of Green Ridge, and Callie Filetti (Joseph), of Green Ridge; six grandchildren: Jackie Neiffer, Lexie Schoonover, Haylee Schoonover, Ethan Filetti, Kara Filetti and Isabella Filetti; two great-grandchildren, Phoenix Neiffer and Lizzie Neiffer; and two sisters, Bernice Blackmore and Teunisie Pawluk, both of Canada.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Noah Neiffer.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Heckart Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Ben Young, Ethan Filetti, Amasa Pottorff, Todd Dominik, Jeff Nilson, Don Carr Jr., Don Carr Sr. and Brian Bailey.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
