A Marshall man was seriously injured in an accident in Cooper County Thursday morning on eastbound I-70.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 10:16 a.m. when two eastbound vehicles slowed for traffic congestion due to road construction at the 88.4 mile marker and a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by Gary L. Kruger, 52, Marshall, struck a 2010 Honda Pilot driven by Gavin M. Goga, 20, of St. Louis. Kruger also hit a 2007 Chevy Tahoe driven by 74-year-old Stephen C. Crawford of St. Joseph.

The Pilot and the F-150 came to rest in the median cables, while the Tahoe came to rest in the median.

Kruger suffered serious injuries and was transported by Cooper County Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia. He and the other drivers were wearing safety devices, the report said.

All vehicles were towed from the scene.
