Marshall Man Injured in One-vehicle Accident in Jackson County

A Marshall man suffered minor injuries in a wreck that happened just after noon today on US 24, 50 feet west of Lexington Road in Jackson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Marty E. Vaughn, 58, was the driver of a westbound 2005 Chevy when he lost control, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, crossed over in to the eastbound lanes, ran off the roadway and struck a second ditch.

Vaughn was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by Fort Osage EMS. He was not wearing a safety device, the report said.

His vehicle had minor damage and was towed from the scene.
