Marshall Man Killed After Train and Car Collision
A 20-year old Marshall man was killed in a Friday afternoon wreck, after a train and a car collided.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck just before 2:00, in the area of the railroad-crossing near N. Benton and W. Eastwood St. in Saline County.
According to the online crash report, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix failed to yield, and traveled into the path of a Kansas City Southern train.
The driver of the Pontiac, 20-year old Adam J. Hammer, of Marshall, was killed in the wreck. His body was taken to the Saline County Coroner's office.
The driver of the train, 36-year old Stephen Sopher, of Lee's Summit, was not injured, according to the report.
