The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 55-year-old Carole D. Waldron of Marshall in Lafayette County Friday at 5:55 p.m. after investigating a two-car crash that occurred on eastbound I-70 just before 5 p.m. at mile marker 53.

According to the Patrol's report, Waldron was the driver of an eastbound 2001 Toyota that traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a mile marker pole, overcorrected and returned to the roadway, striking the passenger side of an eastbound 2016 Ford driven by 62-year-old Robin L. Jones-Allen of Pueblo West, Colorado.

The impact caused the Ford to overturn and run off the right side of the roadway. The Toyota traveled off the left side of the roadway and came to a stop in the cable barriers.

Jones-Allen suffered serious injuries and was Lifelighted to Research Medical Center. Waldron was reportedly uninjured, according to the report.

Waldron was charged with felony DWI involving serious injury, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, and failure to drive in a single lane resulting in a crash. Waldron was taken to the Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and released.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed away.

Lafayette County deputies assisted the Patrol at the crash scene.
