Mary Alice Toothaker, 75, of Blackwater, MO passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at University Hospital, Columbia.  She was born on July 26, 1938, in Sedalia, a daughter of Leroy “Roy” and Alice Mae (Parsons) Thurman.

She was united in marriage to Richard D. Stage, who preceded her in death.  On July 29, 1976, in Union, MO, she was united in marriage to Wayne Leon Toothaker, who survives of the home.

She loved to crochet, sew and embroider.  She enjoyed taking care of her houseplants, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Lucinda Horscroft (Geoffrey) of Sedalia and Rick Stage, Sr. of Springfield, MO; one stepson, Bill Bachler of Washington; one sister, Lois Bohon (Cecil) of Sedalia; three grandchildren, David Hamby (Sheline) of Sedalia, Rick Stage, Jr of Texas and Rick Arispe of Sprinfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Thompson; and a grandson, Donnie Danielson.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 23, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be David Hamby, Daniel Tow, Joe Waller, Brandon Whitlock, Geoff Horscroft and John Franken.

Memorial contributions are suggested to The MO Council of the Blind, The American Heart Association or Bothwell Cancer Center, in care of the funeral chapel.
