Mary Ann Smith, 88, of Sedalia, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with prayers of the rosary beginning at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sacred Heart Building Fund or Crossroads Hospice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Cards and other expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family in care of the funeral chapel.

Born March 13, 1927 in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Emil and Regina Teresa Weller Madorin. She was married to Edgar “E.B.” Smith, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Jeff Smith and wife Helen, of Sedalia and Terry A. Smith and wife Elaine, of Osage Beach; one daughter, Lori A. Lipscomb and husband Dennis, of Middlebury, IN; one brother, James E. Madorin, of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Sara Joyce, Jerrica Smith and Jennifer Lipscomb; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory B. “Mac” Smith; one brother, Virgil W. Madorin; and one sister, Dorothy E. Moore.

Mrs. Smith was raised and educated in Sedalia, and was a 1945 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She worked for Town and Country Shoes for 5 years after graduating from high school. She went on to work for Rival Manufacturing for 13 years from 1961 to 1977, and later for Waterloo from 1977 to 1990. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved life and enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing bridge and spending time with her family.
