Mayme McGirk, 99, of Leawood, KS, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at Sunrise of Leawood.

She was born January 11, 1913, in Benton County.  She was the daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth Sumners Snavely. On April 2, 1940, she was married to Peter R. McGirk, who preceded her in death on October 17, 1975.

Mrs. McGirk was head clerk for the Missouri State Fair, retiring after 35 years. She was an active member of Camp Branch Baptist Church and the Missouri Women's Democratic Club.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas McGirk; four sisters, Joy Ohlrich, Ruth Norman, Idella Sands and Lulu Zey; and a brother, Roland Snavely.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Rob Ayers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, at Heckart Funeral Home.
