Mildred A. Calhoun, 85, of Sedalia, died Saturday surrounded by her family. She was born March 24, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Shoemaker) Goalder. Mildred and William Calhoun were married and celebrated almost 50 years together. William died in 1997.

Mildred was a very loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She put her family and friends before herself and often worked multiple jobs, as well as at home, caring for those she loved. Her family was the constant center of her attention.

Mildred worked until she was 75. She held various jobs during her career. Mildred also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making dolls and collecting teddy bears.

Mildred was a member of Free Will Baptist Church for over 27 years and she always carried her love for God with her.

Funeral services will begin at 5:00P.M., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.

Mildred's family will receive friends from 4:00P.M. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
