Mildred I. Mangels, 91, of Sedalia, passed away April 19, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born November 20, 1921, the daughter of Lester and Alice (Lee) Larimer. Mildred was born on the family farm in Wilmore, KS. She was baptized at the Baptist Church of Wilmore, where she was a member for many years. Mildred graduated from Wilmore High School before attending business college. Mildred and O.W. Mangels dated in high school. They married on December 25, 1942 and celebrated more than 70 wonderful years together. Mildred worked as an office worker for Chubb Insurance Co.   Mildred and O. W. lived in Wichita, KS, and the Kansas City, KS area before retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they lived for 25 years. In 2005 they moved to Sedalia to be closer to family. Mildred and O. W. enjoyed their annual trips to Arizona, traveling in their trailer or motor home, crappie fishing and spending cherished times with their children and grandchildren traveling, fishing or being at the Lake.   Mildred is survived by her husband, O. W.; her son, Ronald Mangels and his wife, Rose; 3 grandchildren, Angela, Jeff and Gina Mangels; 1 great grandson, Justin Mangels and nieces and nephews.   Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Roger Mangels, her sisters, Marybelle Waters and Blanche Wilkie; her brother, Raleigh Larimer and nieces and nephews.   Funeral services will be at 1:00PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick White officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.   Friends may visit with Mildred’s family from 12:00PM until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
