Sedalia/Pettis Economic Development held its annual Manufacturing Milestone Anniversary Recognition Banquet at the Sedalia Country Club on Thursday night (Oct. 17) to honor companies that have reached milestones in their service to the area. Companies receiving plaques included those fairly new companies celebrating five years in business to one with 145 years in business.

According to the Master of Ceremonies Rusty Kahrs, President of the Economic Development Corporation, the companies honored at the ceremony have served the area for a combined 800 years. Following the banquet, the company representatives stood for photographs with local, and state political leaders.

KSIS had the opportunity to speak with Linda Christle, Executive Director of Economic Development for Sedalia Pettis County, who commented on the large turnout of businesses that came to honor the companies receiving the recognition. According to Christle, Thursday night’s banquet had the largest turnout ever.  This to our interview with with Christle and Mayor Elaine Horn below.
