Sedalia Public Works crews will continue the milling and asphalting of city streets in the northeast portion of town for the week of August 28.

The City of Sedalia says the roadwork is part of the street reclamation project that has been ongoing throughout the summer.

Roadwork is planned for the following dates and locations:

Milling and Asphalt Work

Monday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Aug. 29: East Walnut St. from North Emmet Ave. to North Heard Ave.

Asphalt Work

East Walnut St. from N. New York Ave. to N. Emmet Ave.

A press release from the City, says Street Department staff have made contact with residents and signs are being posted, regarding the milling and asphalt work zones.

The roadwork will require closing the streets and the city says that residents
who park along those streets, will need to find alternate parking while the final surface
is being installed.

Drivers are encouraged to find alternate travel routes on the days that roadwork is scheduled or make plans for additional time to arrive at destinations, as periodic lane closures will occur.

The City added that, this should be the last week of the work project in northeast Sedalia. For more information, call the Sedalia Public Works Department at 827-3000.

The roadwork is dependent on weather and equipment. The press release states that changes may occur from time-to-time.
