Missouri Man Charged in Deadly Shooting of His Neighbor

A man has been charged in the shooting death of his neighbor in southwest Missouri.

Fifty-nine-year-old Ricky Marchbanks, of Carthage, was charged Tuesday in Jasper County with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Jeremy Neeper. Bond is set at $750,000 cash only. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.

Carthage police said in a news release that officers were notified Monday night of a dispute between the neighbors. The release said the altercation ended with the fatal shooting of Neeper. Marchbanks was arrested several hours later.
