The Missouri School Public Relations Association recognized ten school districts and educational organizations for excellence in specific communication programs and publications.  The recognitions took place at the annual MOSPRA Fall Conference held in Kansas City, November 6-7.

Communications departments submitted their applications in several different areas including annual reports, audio-visual projects, special writings, marketing materials and other related areas.  MOSPRA then employed third party public relations specialists to judge the work based on professional standards including research, action, target audiences, message and style.

The following districts/organizations were recognized:

  • Special Purpose: Parkway Schools, Common Core: A Parent’s Guide to Student Success
  • Writing: Sedalia School District 200, Bob Satnan, “Common Core Response”
  • Marketing Materials: West Plains, Lana Snodgrass, “RED”
  • Newsletter: Nixa Public Schools, Zac Rantz & Stevie Stryker, “The Next”
  • Website: Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Sarah Potter, redesign of DESE website
