18-year-old Houstonia woman injured in a Pettis County accident

Just after 8pm Monday afternoon the Missouri State highway Patrol reported a one vehicle accident on Route “T” East of Buckley Road in Pettis County. The accident happened according to the report as a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by 18-year-old Brandy L. Klinesmith of Houstonia lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway, and ran off the right side of the road. Klinesmith was taken to I-70 Community Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.

Saline County accident Monday injures two Slater residents

At 2:30pm Monday afternoon the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one vehicle injury accident on Missouri Highway-41 at Big Soldier Lake Road in Saline County. The accident reportedly occurred as the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet 37-year-old Rissa J. Riley of Slater was travelling too fast for the road conditions, and slid out of control. The accident report states the driver over corrected, ran off the roadway, down a grassy embankment, and struck several trees before coming to an uncontrolled stop. Riley received minor injuries in the crash, and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Slater EMS for treatment. A passenger in the vehicle 12-year-old James D. Heriford also of Slater was not injured, but was transported with his mother.

Accident in Lafayette County sends two victims to the hospital Monday night

Around 6:40pm Monday night a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by 21-year-old Tye Q. Hawkinson of Centralia spun out at the 50.2 mile marker on I-70 due to icy condition. According to an accident report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol the spinout occurred in front of a 2001 Jaguar driven by 21-year-old Jolie M. Bitati of Columbia. Bitati was unable to avoid striking the Hawkinson vehicle nearly head-on. Both drivers received minor injuries in the crash, and were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Both vehicle were totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
