One person has died and two people were injured in two different accidents in Pettis County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

26-year-old Daniel Heaton, of Sedalia, was traveling near Route O, north of Salem Road at 1:05 Friday afternoon. Heaton crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment. Heaton's vehicle came to a rest, upright in a ditch. Heaton was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, and was ejected from the vehicle. Heaton was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County EMS and pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m.

41-year-old Nathaniel Casey and 3-year-old Kasumai Casey of Marshall suffered minor injuries from an accident that happened in area of Highway 52, .1 miles east of Meyers Road. Nathaniel Casey fell asleep and traveled down an embankment and struck a tree at 6:30 p.m. The vehicle was totaled and both Nathaniel and Kasumai were transported to an area hospital by another personal vehicle from the scene.
