Sedalia man suffers serious injuries in a Sunday morning accident

Around 6:30 Sunday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Department and the Deer Creek Fire Department reported a two-vehicle injury accident in Benton County. According to the report, the accident occurred on Highway 7 about a mile East of Bethel Avenue in Benton County. The accident report states that the 2008 Toyota driven by 25-year-old Jimmy Brown of Sedalia crossed the center line to avoid a vehicle going the wrong way. Brown’s vehicle ran off the roadway, overturned and struck a utility pole. Brown suffered serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Lake Regional in Camdenton for treatment.

Warsaw teen receives moderate injuries in an ATV crash

At 3:46 Sunday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Benton County Sheriff’s Department investigated an ATV accident that occurred east of Gregory Ave. in Warsaw. The accident reportedly occurred as the driver of a Polaris ATV, 14-year-old Lee Hunter of Warsaw, lost control of the ATV due to equipment failure and overturned. Hunter received moderate injuries in the accident and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Staff for Life for treatment.

Pettis County accident Saturday night injures a Sedalia teen

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident in Pettis County Saturday night. The accident report states that  17-year-old Jesse Contreras of Sedalia slid off of Oak Grove Lane at a low water crossing on the ice covered roadway and struck an embankment. Contreras suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Ambulance for treatment.

Two out of state men injured in a Sunday morning accident in Lafayette County

Around 6:40 Sunday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on I-70 in Lafayette County. The accident happened as the 2012 Freightliner driven by 40-year-old Abass Bandago of Schenectady, New York, traveled off the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned. Bandago and a passenger, 32-year-old Francis Kwarteng of Middletown, Ohio, received minor injuries in the crash and were transported to Centerpoint Hospital by EMS for treatment.
