Two-vehicle accident in Lafayette County injures three, one seriously

At 7:30 Thursday night the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an injury accident on US-Highway 24 West of Waterloo in Lafayette County. The accident occurred, according to the report, as an Eastbound 2002 Cadillac driven by 17-year-old Kelsie A. Petty of Grain Valley traveled into the Westbound lane, and struck a 1995 Pontiac driven by 28-year-old Katy Blaha of Oak Grove, head-on. Petty and Blaha received moderate injuries in the crash while a passenger in the Blaha vehicle, 28-year-old Samantha Drummond of Blue Springs, suffered serious injuries. All three victims were taken to Centerpoint Medical Center by Wellington EMS for treatment.

Sedalia teen injured Thursday night in a Pettis County accident

Just after 9pm Thursday night 16-year-old Amanda Matz of Sedalia was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Cambridge Road South of Nottingham in Pettis County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred as the 2005 Nissan Matz was driving travelled off the roadway, struck a ditch, became airborne, and overturned. The Nissan struck the ground, and slid on its top coming to rest in the roadway. Matz was not wearing a seatbelt, and received moderate injuries. She was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County EMS for treatment.
