Two-vehicle accident in Benton County injures a 56-year-old Urich man

Just before 9am Thursday morning the Missouri state Highway Patrol reported a 2-vehicle accident on Missouri Highway “7” at Sunset Drive in Benton County. The report states the accident occurred as a 2015 Freightliner driven by 35-year-old Robert Gadd of California Missouri overtook and struck a 2005 Ford driven by 56-year-old Larry Hembree of Urich. Hembree suffered what were described as moderate injuries, and was transported by air ambulance to Research Hospital for treatment.

19-year-old Warrensburg man injured in a Johnson County Accident

At 3:45 Thursday afternoon 19-year-old John Nestor of Warrensburg ran off the roadway on County Road Southeast 350 east of County Road Southeast 601 in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report states the 1995 Ford driven by Nester ran off the south side of the roadway on Southeast 350 and struck a fence, returned to the roadway on 601, and then ran off the East Side of the roadway striking a fence and two-trees before coming to rest.  Nester was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. He was transported by EMS to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
