Around 5:30 yesterday evening (May 8th), the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one vehicle, injury accident in Benton County, by Hill Crest Road. The accident occurred as the 16-year old driver, Nadine A. Rider, was travelling northbound on Highway M and failed to negotiate a curve. The car ran off the left side of the road, when Nadine over-corrected, returned to the road, and then traveled off the right side of the road, and struck a culvert, and overturned. Nadine Rider was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Benton County EMS, for the treatment of moderate injuries.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported another one vehicle accident over the weekend, that injured five people. That crash occurred Saturday evening, in Saline County, just after 7:00. The 2001 Chevy Venture traveled off the right side of the road, then returned to the roadway, before travelling off the right side of the roadway again. The Chevy struck a wooden fence post and came to rest in a field. 5 people were injured in the crash, including Bruce Kennedy and Samuel S. Kennedy, both 1 year old, both receiving minor injuries. Three adults, identified as Travis, William, and Samuel S. Kennedy, all received minor injuries. Everyone involved in the crash is from Marshall, and all were transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for the treatment of their injuries.
