Stillwell Kansas man injured in a Lafayette County accident Wednesday morning

At 8:45 Wednesday morning the Missouri state Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on the A3 Weigh Station Scales at Mayview in Lafayette County injured a Stillwell Kansas man. According to the accident report the accident occurred as the 2005 Ford Dump Truck driven by 21-year-old Drake A. Saunders exited the Interstate at the Weigh Station and impacted a height Detector Pole. Saunders suffered moderate injuries, and was taken to Center Point Hospital in Independence by Odessa EMS for treatment. The Dump Truck was reportedly totaled.

Sedalia man injured in a Johnson County accident this (Thursday) morning

Around 7:35 this  (Thursday) morning a Sedalia man travelled off the roadway at Missouri Route “D” a quarter of a mile South of Missouri Route “Y” in Johnson County, causing extensive damage to his vehicle while sustaining minor injuries himself. The Missouri State Highway patrol report states the 2000 Toyota driven by 21-year-old Thomas G. Lukes of Sedalia ran off the roadway, and returned to it twice before striking an embankment and overturning. Lukes was taken to Lee’s Summit medical Center by Johnson County EMS for treatment.

Driver falls asleep at the wheel and strikes another vehicle in the rear on I-70

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report just before 4pm Tuesday afternoon a 2012 Volvo Tractor driven by 49-year-old James R. Halsey of Memphis Tennessee was attempting to merge into traffic at Mile Marker 82.2 on Westbound I-70 in Saline County. The accident report states at that time the driver of a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser, 23-year-old Ciera M. Jackson-Moore of Grandview overtook and struck the rear of Halsey vehicle. Jackson-Moore reportedly told the Missouri State Highway patrol, that she had fallen asleep. She refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
