Chilhowee man suffers serious injuries in a Johnson County Accident Friday

At 3:15 Friday afternoon the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a two-vehicle accident on Missouri Highway 13 just North of Southeast 1000 Road in Johnson County. The accident occurred according to the report as a 1999 Ford driven by 54-year-old Paul D. Dabbs of Chilhowee crossed the center line of Missouri Highway 13. A 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 52-year-old David W. Olson of Columbia travelled off the side of the roadway in an attempt to avoid the Dabbs vehicle, but was struck in the driver’s side by the Dabb’s vehicle causing his vehicle to travel through a ditch, overturn on its side, and strike a telephone. The Dabbs vehicle travelled off the roadway and struck a separate utility pole before coming to rest. Dabbs was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by lifeflight Air Ambulance for treatment. There were no other injuries listed in the report. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

Saline County accident injures a Miami Missouri woman

Around 1:45am Friday morning a 24-year-old Miami Missouri woman identified as Danae E. Eddy received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Route “C” at Linwood Avenue in Saline County. The accident happened according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report as the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Eddy was driving traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a bridge. The vehicle returned to the roadway, and then ran off the right side again before coming to rest. Eddy was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

Florida woman receives minor injuries in a Johnson County accident Sunday morning

At 1:40am Sunday morning the driver of a 2004 Ford Van, 62-year-old Hazel E. Chapman of Ocala Florida  failed to negotiate a curve on Northwest 131 Highway ay Northwest 700 Road in Johnson County, and travelled off the roadway. The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report states Chapman then overcorrected and returned to the roadway, where the Van overturned. Chapman was wearing her seatbelt, and received only minor injuries in the wreck. She was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment. The van was reportedly totaled, and had to be towed from the scene.
