Lee’s Summit man suffers serious injuries in a Pettis County crash Saturday night

Around 11:30pm Saturday night the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on US-65 Highway North of Bothwell Park Road. According to the report the accident occurred as the 2010 Mercedes driven by 41-year-old Michael D. Barrett of Lee’s Summit travelled off the left side of the roadway, through the median, and across the Southbound lanes. The vehicle then went off the highway, up an embankment, and overturned numerous times, and then struck a fence before coming to rest. Barrett was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt, and suffered serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by Life-Flight for treatment.

62-year-old Lincoln man injured in a motorcycle accident in Benton County Sunday

Just before 1pm Sunday afternoon 62-year-old Edward M. Thompson of Lincoln suffered serious injuries when he attempted to avoid a northbound vehicle that crossed the centerline of Missouri Route “B” just South of Cole Camp. The Missouri state Highway patrol reported the 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle Thompson was riding travelled off the roadway and overturned. Thompson was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Cole Camp EMS for treatment of his injuries. There was no mention of the other vehicle involved in the accident.

Holden man injured in a Johnson County accident Sunday night

At 8:30pm Sunday night the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Westbound US-50 Highway a tenth of a mile east of Route “M” in Johnson County. The accident report states the driver of a 2001 Ford F-150, 43-year-old William J. Reynolds of Holden swerved to avoid another vehicle and left the roadway and overturned. Reynolds received moderate injuries in the accident and was transported to Lee’s Summit Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance district for treatment.
