Lafayette County accident injures 2-Illinois Men Saturday

Just after 4pm Saturday afternoon the Missouri state Highway Patrol reported an injury accident on Route “VV” just after Alexander Road in Lafayette County. The accident reportedly occurred as a 2002 Chrysler 300 driven by 26-year-old Joshua R. Melton of Granite City Illinois was travelling west and struck another vehicle, that did not stop after impact and continued west. The Chrysler travelled off the roadway, struck an embankment, returned to the roadway, and then ran off the other side of the roadway, struck a ditch and came to rest facing north. Melton and a passenger 25-year-old Charles K. Myint also of Granite City Illinois suffered moderate injuries, and were transported to I-70 Community Hospital for treatment.

2-vehicle accident in Benton County injures a 69-year-old Windsor woman

Around 3:30pm Saturday afternoon a two-vehicle accident was reported on Soles Road 28 feet east of Amish Avenue in Benton County. According to the Missouri state Highway patrol report the accident occurred as the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Track driven by 29-year-old Christopher D. Ridenour of Windsor crossed the centerline of the roadway while making a left turn, and struck the 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by 69-year-old Roy E. Brandt of Windsor head-on. The only injury reported in the crash was a passenger in the Brandt vehicle, 69-year-old Rita M. Brandt of Windsor, who reportedly received minor injuries, and was taken to Golden Valley Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

34-year-old Iowa man injured in a Henry County accident involving a deer

At 9:15 Sunday night the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a vehicle deer accident on Missouri Highway 13 South of Northwest 450 Road in Henry County. The accident report states the 2014 Toyota driven by Bryan J. Newswander of Sioux City Iowa struck a deer in the roadway causing moderate damage to the vehicle, and minor injuries to Newswander. Newswander was transported to Golden Valley Hospital by EMS for treatment.
