Pettis County accident injures a Windsor teen Sunday evening

At 6:15 Sunday evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department reported a one vehicle accident on Elm Branch Road just West of Swisher road in Pettis County. The accident occurred according to the report as the driver of a 1999 Honda 16-year-old Ashleigh Tilden of Windsor swerved to miss a deer in the roadway, and ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and struck a tree before coming to rest causing minor injuries to Tilden, who was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.

Richmond man suffers moderate injuries in a Lafayette County accident Monday evening

Just before 7pm Monday evening 67-year-old Victor J. Butler of Richmond received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Westbound I-70 at mile marker 53.8 in Lafayette County. The accident reportedly happened as the 2003 Chevrolet driven by Butler travelled off the roadway, and struck a concrete ditch. The vehicle then returned to the roadway and struck a cable post before coming to rest. Butler received moderate injuries in the crash, and was transported to the I-70 Community Hospital by Concordia EMS for treatment.

72-year-old Springfield man injured in a Saline County accident Sunday evening

On Sunday the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an injury accident on Missouri Highway 41 West of Poplar Avenue in Saline County. According to the report at 5:18pm Sunday evening the driver of a 2005 KIA Sorento, 72-year-old Billy J. Austin of Springfield fell asleep at the wheel, ran off the roadway, and overturned. The accident report states Austin was not wearing his seatbelt, and suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS for treatment. The accident report states the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall Fire Department assisted in that accident.

Henry County Accident injures a Kansas City man and a Lenexa Kansas man

Around 10am Monday morning the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle accident, that occurred on Missouri Highway 7 at Northwest 401 Road in Henry County. According to the accident report the accident happened as the driver of a 2001 Dodge Durango, 87-year-old Isadore H. Gross of Lenexa Kansas fell asleep at the wheel, travelled off the roadway, and struck a post. The vehicle then crossed the roadway, struck a sign and the ground before coming to rest in a field. Gross and a passenger 45-year-old James A. Gutherie of Kansas City Missouri were wearing their seatbelts and received minor injuries. Both victims were taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton by EMS for treatment.

Warsaw woman injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon

Just before 4pm Monday afternoon a two vehicle accident in Benton County sent a Warsaw woman to the hospital with minor injuries. The Missouri state Highway Patrol Accident Report states the accident occurred as the 2000 Ford Taurus driven by 76-year-old Anita C. Jenkins of Warsaw was attempting to turn into a private driveway off of 65 Highway a mile South of Thomas Avenue in Benton County. According to the report a 2002 Lincoln driven by 58-year-old Steinar L. Bergby of Bates City attempted to pass the Jenkins’s vehicle and sideswiped it sending it off of the roadway. Jenkins was wearing her seatbelt, and suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Golden Valley Clinic by a personal vehicle for treatment.
