Motorcycle rear-ended as it slowed for an animal in the roadway Saturday in Benton County

According to a Missouri state Highway accident report, at 5:15 Saturday evening a Clinton man identified as 35-year-old Jason L. Elliott was seriously injured when the 1982 Yamaha Motorcycle he was riding was struck in the rear by a 2006 Pontiac driven by 23-year-old Haileigh K. Jones of Sedalia.

The accident, which occurred on Highway “C” West of Highway “E” in Benton County, happened when Elliott slowed for an animal in the roadway, and was struck by the Jones vehicle that reportedly was travelling with her lights off.

Elliott received only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene, but a passenger on his motorcycle, 27-year-old Amanda E. Vanlue of Clinton suffered serious injuries, and was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital by Warsaw/Lincoln Ambulance for treatment.

Two Lincoln victims suffer serious injuries in a head-on collision in Benton County Tuesday

Just before 6pm Tuesday evening, the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a two-vehicle accident on Route “H” 4-tenths of a mile East of Duran Creek Avenue. According to the accident report the accident occurred as the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer driven by 23-year-old Daniel C. Shute of Lincoln, crossed the centerline of the roadway, and struck the 2002 Chevrolet ¾ Ton Truck head-on. Both drivers suffered serious injuries in the wreck, and were transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

MODOT worker/pedestrian receives moderate injuries in a 2-vehicle accident in Lafayette County

A Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report states a MODOT worker received moderate injuries at 1:15pm Monday afternoon on Missour-224 a half mile West of County Farm Road in Lafayette County. The accident happened according to the report as the 1993 Ford F-250 driven by 41-year-old Charles D> Freeman of Wellington crossed the centerline of the roadway, and struck a 2003 International driven by 51-year-old Kelly L. Anstach of Oak Grove. The Freeman vehicle then struck a MODOT Worker, 30-year-old Timothy A. Barton of Grain Valley who was a pedestrian causing him moderate injuries. Barton was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Wellington EMS for treatment.
