Three-vehicle accident reported in Pettis County Friday evening

At 6:10pm Friday evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a three-vehicle injury accident on US-50 Highway 4-tenths of a mile west of Route “MM” in Pettis County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 1998 Chevrolet 3500 Tow Truck driven by 43-year-old Christopher Smith of Sweet Springs struck the rear of a 2011 Mercury Milan driven by 26-year-old Trenton Fairbanks of Shawnee Kansas, and then skidded off the roadway. Smith suffered only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene, while Fairbanks, and his passenger 26-year-old Sara Fairbanks of Shawnee Kansas received serious injuries, and were lifeflighted to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment. A third vehicle a 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class driven by 63-year-old Gayland Gaut of Olathe Kansas was struck by debris from the crash, but no injuries were reported in that vehicle.

Two Columbia men injured in a Lafayette County accident Monday morning

Around 2:45 Monday morning two Columbia men were reportedly injured in a rollover accident. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred on Eastbound I-70 west of exit 62 in Lafayette County. The accident happened according to the report as the 2014 Chevrolet driven by 31-year-old Malcom Redmon of Columbia travelled off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. Redmon suffered moderate injuries in the accident while hic passenger 34-year-old Alphonso Fagala of Columbia received minor injuries. Both victims were transported to I-70 Medical Center for treatment.

Cross Timbers man injured in a Sunday night accident in Benton County

At 10:25 Sunday night the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Benton County Sheriff’s Department investigated a rollover accident that occurred on Route "AA" just west of Route “VV” in Benton County. According to the accident report the accident happened as the 2005 ¾ ton Chevrolet Pickup driven by 26-year-old Matthew McClurg of Cross Timbers travelled off the roadway, then overcorrected causing the vehicle to overturn coming to rest off the roadway. McClurg suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lake Regional Medical Center by EMS for treatment.
