Missouri State Highway Patrol Reports a Fatal Accident in Benton County Saturday, December 12, 2015

At 10:20 the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident on Missouri Highway 83 a tenth of a mile South of US Highway-65 in Benton County.

The accident occurred according to the report as the driver of a 2004 Cadillac, 31-year-old Lance M. Grant of Warsaw, failed to negotiate a curve, and ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Kendra D. Grant, also of Warsaw, was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle.

The report states Kendra Grant suffered fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was taken to Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. The driver, Lance Grant, was wearing a seat belt and received moderate injuries in the crash. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw/Lincoln Ambulance for treatment.
