At 2:10 p.m. last Friday (Oct. 25), the Missouri State highway patrol reported a fatality accident on Route “W” East of Route “M” in Pettis County. The accident occurred as the 1998 Pontiac driven by 36-year-old Tracie Gibson of Smithton ran off of the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned, striking a fence and some trees before coming to rest on its wheels. Gibson was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle. The accident report states Gibson was pronounced deceased at the scene and was transported to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Morgue.

The Missouri State Highway patrol also reported a fatality accident at 2:00 Saturday afternoon on Route “MM” a mile east of Missouri Highway 83 in Benton County. The accident reportedly happened as the 2002 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 33-year-old Bryan Cook of Warsaw traveled off the roadway and overturned. The accident report states Cook was ejected from the motorcycle, suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cook was transported to the Benton County Coroner’s Office.
